Twitter Conversation Widget – Embed conversations on your blog/website

You can now embed a Twitter conversation on your blog or your website (just like you do for a YouTube video) through our Twitter Conversation Widget.
On all conversations – tracked in real time on Twitoaster – you’ll find a new purple button called “Embed Conversation”. Simply define the size of the widget and copy/paste the [...]

How to handle simple mentions?

Sometimes, I receive questions from users wondering why a specific tweet mentioning their username is not appearing on their Twitoaster page. Most of the time, it’s because the tweet is neither a reply (in reply to a given a tweet) nor a retweet (reusing a given tweet) but a simple mention (a tweet where your [...]

Introducing 2nd level Followers

How many twitterers are reading your tweets?
Well… You obviously get an idea if you take a look on your number of followers. But when a tweet is retweeted by someone, this “someones’s followers” are also receiving – and probably reading – your tweet as well.
This is what I call 2nd level Followers: the number of [...]

Real Time Threading & ReTweets support

As announced a few days ago, real time threading and retweets (RT) support is now active for all Twitoaster users!
Real time threading means no more “sync” delays. If you tweet, reply or retweet something from Twitter or any other Twitter application, you’ll see it a few seconds later, threaded on Twitoaster.
For Retweets, they are handled [...]

Wondering what is coming next year?

Well.. I’ll tell you: Twitoaster is going to be improved with three major features and technical changes!

Servers changes: Twitoaster is about to move to new and more powerful machines. This new system will be “connected” to Twitter though their Streaming API (aka Firehose), bringing the features listed below.
Real Time Threading: This means no more “sync [...]

Hide / Remove Ads on Twitoaster!

You’ve noticed it: Twitoaster is completely free and it’s sponsored by advertising. As promised, a new option allowing you to hide all these ads has been introduced today.
No “premium account” or whatever needed… Just a click from this page and that’s it, no more ads. Cool, isn’t it?
Remember these ads are Twitoaster’s only income. If they [...]

RSS feeds move to Atom!

Twitoaster’s feeds have been moved from the RSS2 format to the Atom format with purl threading extension.
If your feed reader supports it, you’ll be able to see all the conversation (threaded), directly from your reader. For the time being, three kinds of feeds are supported:

Conversation feed: all the replies of a conversation.
Twitterer feed: the 20 [...]

Geolocation & Countries features released

As promised, the geolocation & countries features have just been released, and are now available on Twitoaster (note the API will reflect these changes very soon).

How does it work? – Twitoaster converts your Twitter “location” field into geographic coordinates (latitude / longitude). Then, it uses these coordinates to get your country.
What does it bring? – [...]

New features coming soon!

Some of you were wondering why this blog didn’t receive any update these last days. The thing is I really have been snowed under, and I didn’t have time to keep you updated. Sorry for that!
A lot of work on Twitoaster, plus the fact that I’m currently relocating (and I guess you know how that [...]

Launch of the Twitoaster Blog

Welcome on the Twitoaster blog!
The idea of this blog is to provide you information when Twitoaster is upgraded or when a new feature is launched. This blog will also be used to organize the Twitoaster roadmap and reorder priorities, thanks to your suggestions.
I was also thinking to include less formal subjects, like a “best of [...]
