Launch of the Twitoaster Blog
Welcome on the Twitoaster blog!
The idea of this blog is to provide you information when Twitoaster is upgraded or when a new feature is launched. This blog will also be used to organize the Twitoaster roadmap and reorder priorities, thanks to your suggestions.
I was also thinking to include less formal subjects, like a “best of the week” post where we could share the most (funny / interesting / amazing / whatever) Twitter conversations…
In a word, I hope it’ll be a great place to share ideas around the service through your comments and/or replies (both being displayed here).
Hope you’ll like it! As usual, your comments and replies are welcome!

Wonderful and some greets from germany.

I hope users will come up with innovative ideas here, and The Twitoaster Team (I’ll call it “3T”) will consider them.
Best wishes for the blog!
And I recommend you install “OpenID” plug-in on WordPress.

I would recommend using Disqus or IntenseDebate for comments. I prefer ID coz it is from the developers of WordPress.

Glad to see you like the idea, thanks for your comments :)
I unfortunately won’t be able to implement IntenseDebate or Disqus plugins, as I plan to use another system (based on the Twitoaster WP plugin) to create a real interraction between this blog and Twitter.

@twitoaster I was under the impression that any RT of a blog post would appear as a comment on a WP blog… wondering if that’s correct?

that would be great to see the capabilities of the WP plugin. i was considering using it myself. :)

To clarify the above tweet: I posted a new blog entry, had retweets of it, but those RT’s didn’t become comments on the blog… although my own initial tweet of the new blog post became a comment.
I have Enabled Twitter Comments, activated the API key… all features in WP settings are good to go.

Twitoaster currently handles Replies, not ReTweets. ReTweets will be supported soon (probably with firehose use)

Good idea – but it’s been 19 days since you launched and all you’ve written is a post announcing you have a blog :-)
PS: I think the AdSense ads you’ve placed above people’s replies is too aggressive, really breaks the flow of the conversation too much which decreases the usefulness of your service.

Have been very busy on two major features:
- Real Time Threading (using the Twitter firehose I finally got access to). Will probably be in production in a couple of weeks
- Geolocation using the Twitter location field (will seperate users and ranking in countries). Should be available before the end of the week.
Concerning ads, I plan to add an option to disable them, don’t worry :)

Nice service!
Could you add a category for Education please.
Thanks

Thanks!
Actually, the “Reference” category includes “Education” (with maps, libraries…) :)
